Problem Biting Puppy

Postby shibasrock on Sat Jan 23, 2010 1:46 pm

We have a 14 week old male shiba. We have been attending puppy behavior classes for three weeks and are starting a K9 Noseworks course next Tuesday. Despite the fact that we discourage biting during play (including using time outs, stopping play, and using a lead during play to prevent biting) and we discourage biting ankles and calves while we are walking (by stopping and telling him off), he is still biting us. Sometimes he gets quite aggressive and tries to bite our face. He is only a puppy and we are dreading his teething phase, because these behaviors will probably get worse. Have you found any things that help this behavior please let us know. Or is this just something we will have to wait out?

I have the exact problem. She has torn our whole den up and I have bites all over my arms.
